An upright, evergreen shrub with dark green leaves, purple-red when young. Small white flowers are sometimes followed by bright red fruit. The variety is characterized by its compact habit, its smaller and more pointed leaves, and especially its young shoots and leaves which are very bright and blood red coloured.
